(NEEC) is sponsoring a gathering of community leaders and environmental groups from northern and central New Jersey to network on environmental issues\, including local food\, sustainable communities\, alternative transportation\, renewable energy\, clean air and water\, and climate change activism. \nThe event will be held a the Montclair Public Library Auditorium Saturday January 14\, from 1pm to 5pm. Refreshments and snacks will be served.  The event is free and open to the public.

SUMMARY:COMMUNITY GARDENS DAY 2016
DESCRIPTION:The Northeast Earth Coalition is part of a nationwide movement of people who want fresh\, local food and recognize that community gardens play a vital role in providing it. They also recognize the need for people to support the habitat of pollinators such as bees and butterflies\, so crucial to a continuing food supply. These projects also create social ‘how to’ networking opportunities so that more people can participate. \nWe would like to invite you to be part of Community Garden Day 2016. To participate\, please complete the registration form (See below) and send a two-paragraph description of your garden\, its location\, two digital pictures and your contact information to the email address below. \nYour photos will be entered in the “Best Community Garden Picture of 2016” contest. The winner will receive a $500 prize to support the work of their gardening group. \nDeadline for registration is May 15\, 2016.   The garden photo winner will be announced on June 30\, 2016.
