This series has something for everyone. Whether you are new to gardening or an experienced gardener looking for new ideas, learn from some of the best gardeners of Northern NJ and get growing!
March 20th, 2021, 10:30am – Vegetable Gardening for Beginners
This webinar is an introductory workshop for people who want to create a vegetable garden in their yard. Learn about healthy soils, composting, and seasonal planting.
Speaker: Jose German
Jose is an avid organic gardener, environmentalist, Essex County Master Gardener & Rutgers Environmental Steward. Jose writes articles and blogs about environmental issues, sustainable communities, and affordable food.
March 20th, 2021, 11:00am – Gardening for Wildlife (Introductory level)
This workshop will show you how to transform your yard into a wildlife habitat and a haven for pollinators. Learn the basics about wildlife-friendly gardening and yard care, including native plants that will attract beneficial wildlife to your yard.
Speaker: David Wasmuth
David has been gardening for wildlife for over 20 years. He was Team Leader of the Montclair Backyard Habitat Project, which made Montclair the first National Wildlife Federation-certified Community Wildlife Habitat in New Jersey. As a Rutgers Environmental Steward, he is leading a project to create a bird and pollinator garden in Essex County’s Brookdale Park. David writes a column on wildlife for the Montclair Local newspaper. His articles have been published in our blog. Read More
