About this event

If you’d like to see more color in your yard and hear more bird songs, join us for this 45-minute presentation on how to create a garden for wildlife in any outdoor space. Whether in your yard, school grounds, business, or place of worship, a Certified Wildlife Habitat can be created anywhere with a few resources necessary for pollinator and songbird survival. There will be time at the end to ask questions.
Kristin Hock, Habitat Outreach Coordinator of the New Jersey Audubon Society, will be offering a free virtual webinar: Gardening for Pollinators and Songbirds. Kristin will discuss the steps to become a Certified Wildlife Habitat and encourage folks to certify so they can help their/your communities either reach certification or earn you points for your 2023 re-certification. We have 5 certified Communities and 21 registered. There are quite a few that are so close to reaching their goal so we will definitely see the number of certified Communities increase, perhaps even double, this year!
In order to get points for hosting an educational program, your community should create a flyer or advertisement to post on your community social media accounts, town webpages, post at the library, etc to promote the webinar. Here is the Eventbrite so you can get more info and where folks would sign up:
And if you’re able to help NJ Audubon promote their upcoming Gardening for Wildlife Webinar Series, we’d much appreciate it! They will start on January 31st and run for 8 weeks with optional in person field trips. For more info and to help promote: https://njaudubon.org/garden-webinar/ We already have almost 50 registrants so looking like we’ll have a successful 3rd year of offering this program.
